Alpher Instruments Cobia Prime V2 6-string in Callida Red

The guys at Alpher Instruments scorched the body of this Cobia guitar - ON PURPOSE! Don’t sweat it though - it’s part of the process. Similar to the Japanese method of shou sugi ban, Alpher’s Callida finishes involve different degrees of burning the wood to protect it and enhance its beauty and texture. This one got just a light burn of the wood grain, followed by a dark red stain and oil finish. The results are amazing! Combine that eye-grabbing look with equally mind-bending specs (wenge neck & ‘board, dual BKP Cold Sweat humbuckers, a Schaller hardtail bridge and Hipshot locking tuners) and you’ve got one fantastically artistic BEAST!
